Grilled Stuffed Onions


1 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 tsp poultry seasoning
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup hot water
4 large yellow onions
olive oil

Mix first five ingredients together in a medium size bowl. Clean onions and cut in half. Remove half of the onion center (and dispose or reserve for some other use) to form a bowl out of each piece. Fill each half with stuffing mix and reassemble onion. Place each onion on a piece of 12" square aluminum foil. Lightly cover each onion with olive oil then pull corners of foil up and twist together completely sealing the onion inside. Place on highest rack in grill over low direct heat till done, approx. 25 minutes.
