This was our Honeymoon and Deb's first time to see California. It was the first time I had been back to the central part of the state in about 18 years. We flew into San Francisco rented our car and headed for the coast and highway 101. We basically made a big circle through the middle part of the state. We spent a couple days and nights driving down the coast on Highway 101 to San Simeon. We cut over the foothills there and saw some of the valley and it's agriculture as we headed for the Kern river. We followed The river noted for its deadly rapids below lake Isabella and its tranquil beauty above into the Sierra Nevada mountains and the giant Redwoods of Sequoia National Park. From there it was off to Yosemite for several days of wonder and amazement. The end came way to soon and we had to pack our bags and head back to S.F airport for our flight back home. Deb said she had a great time but I think mine was better. I got to visit a lot of my favorite places and see on her face the look my parents must have seen on mine the first time they shared these incredible places with me.

Amazing there can be that much snow when it's warm enought for Deb to wear shorts.
Yosemite falls.
El Capitan.
When you enter the park from the south, this is the first view you have as you come out of the tunnel leading to the valley.
One of the hundreds of creeks filled with snow melt.
Me, looking for that great shot.

No trip to San Francisco is complete with a drive down Lombard street.
